Let's Talk about: Valentyne Magazine
When I first started looking for ways to build my CV for a future in the music industry, I decided to create my own hypothetical music magazine: Valentyne Magazine-named as a playful nod to 5 Seconds of Summer’s bassist and his famously creative spelling.
The idea behind Valentyne was to shine a light on European heritage within the music scene. In an industry where Europe is often not the center of attention, I wanted to craft a space where dedicated European fans could share their stories authentically and celebrate what makes their experiences unique. My goal was to weave together narratives that reflected the diversity and passion of European music lovers, giving them a platform that’s too often missing from the global conversation.
Although I never launched the magazine, the process of branding it and drafting pretend articles was a genuinely fun and valuable way for me to grow my creative and strategic skills. It taught me a lot about editorial direction, branding, and the importance of representing underappreciated perspectives in music media.
Even as an unrealized project, Valentyne Magazine helped shape my mindset as a publicist-reminding me that every audience deserves to have their stories told.
